Trends from Autumn/Winter 2013/2014 collections - Cherry to Berry

The WGSN conference I attended a couple of weeks back could not have been more on point.  The trends that were forecast are starting to pop up in High Street stores day after day.  Continuing on my list of key pieces to invest in now that will last you for a few years to come, the Cherry Berry trend is one of my personal favourites.

CHERRY BERRY
Similar to the white and grey trends, Cherry Berry is all about contrasting and mixing fabrics in rich and intense colours.  Bright cherry to deep berry tones graced the Marc by Marc Jacobs, Topman, Valentino, Just Cavalli, Antipodium, Burberry Prorsum, Richard James and Bread & Butter Autumn Winter runways this year as a newer and deeper version of the 2011 maroon trend.  Garments can be layered with different colour tones to create a unique and complete look.  Popular shades include rich wine reds, burgundy and claret.  A fresh take on the trend is to contrast shine and plush fabrics such as fur and patent.  This will be a key colour for knits so stock up now.
